Kimberly Saussy Named MES Teacher of the Year for 2020-2021

Midway Elementary teacher Kimberly Saussy was chosen as the 2020-2021 Teacher of the Year.  Mrs. Saussy teaches math across all grade levels through RTI as well is a PBIS coach at the school.  This year, her role will include virtual teaching as well as in-person teaching. Teacher of the Year is voted on by the school building faculty.


Saussy has been a teacher for 11 years in Pierce County, serving 15 years total.  She wears many hats at MES, making sure students and teachers have positive experiences on a daily basis as well as serving with a smile as she teaches students who need extra help in math.  


She graduated from UGA with her bachelor's and earned her master's from VSU in Curriculum and Instruction. She is married to Jack Saussy, and they have three children:  Cooper Saussy, Hugh Saussy, and Wade DiBiase.  Their labradoodle Louis completes their family in Blackshear.
